First GRUNDODRILL 18ACS for Australia
The company R+R McClure who are experts in underground infrastructure and asset relocation have recently purchased a GRUNDODRILL 18ACS directional drilling system. They have been in the HDD business for over 25 years and are based in the old goldmine regions of Castlemaine in Victoria.
Due to the demanding nature of the local areas and surrounding soil conditions R+R McClure were looking for a compact, powerful HDD system that could perform challenging projects on a regular basis and one that would alleviate the need to use mud motors in the rocky areas that are often encountered.
The new Grundodrill 18ACS was chosen due to its advanced technical design features and its ability to be used as rock drilling machine combined with the options to quickly change over to a standard HDD system carrying in excess of 210m of TD 82 Drill Rod in a single magazine.
The official handover of the system took place with Tim McClure (members of TTAP staff and TTG also present) following the recent NoDig exhibition held in Sydney and two bores totalling 220 m were completed in challenging rock conditions to the customers complete satisfaction.
