Themed "360° Trenchless Power" TRACTO-TECHNIK GmbH is presenting its complete range of trendsetting NODIG products and solutions for the trenchless installation and renewal of pipes at BAUMA 2016 in Munich.
An area of 1,500 m2 invites visitors to deeply delve into the world of trenchless technologies. The focus is on complex solutions for the urban infrastructure, with more than half of the world’s population living in cities today - in Europe even more than 70% - with an rising trend! Accordingly maintenance and development of the complex urban underground supply network are quite challenging with regards to longevity and cost reduction for private utilities and particularly for the tax-funded public sector. The innovative products and systems of TRACTO-TECHNIK (TT) offer sustainable and economical solutions for the "Smart City" of tomorrow.
Smart solutions for infrastructure linkage and development
New installation and rehabilitation of mains and distribution pipes using trenchless technology has been accepted for a long time. At BAUMA, TT will show further developments for installing property service connections. Furthermore, the complete range of sectors - from sewage to FTTX connections - can be installed and renewed without trenches using the GRUNDOMAT displacement hammer. Gas, water, sewage, district heating, electricity and telecoms/data are connected into single buildings, housing blocks or commercial and industrial plants. Waterproof wall ducts for gas and water pipes allow trenchless installation from the basement of the building without additional assembly pits in front of the outer wall. Either the pioneer of all moles, GRUNDOMAT P, or the new GRUNDOMAT N version are utilised; the latter can be equipped with the innovative crowned head or the stepped head.
The cost factor in civil engineering was the mainspring for developing another TT innovation: the award-winning GRUNDOPIT K which can be used for installing, repairing and renewing property service connections from a keyhole access with a maximum diameter of only 650 mm. This minimally invasive technology allows for sustainable reinstatement of the road surface while hardly disturbing the flowing traffic. After completion of the work, the previously drilled out circular core bore is inserted back into place without any subsequent stress cracks or damage to the road surface.
Additionally the keyhole technology can substantially contribute to the development of the e-mobility infrastructure. The keyhole technology can be used both as the assembly pit for the e-charging station and/or as the starting bore hole for laying the connection cables, either from the charging station into the keyhole, or from out of the keyhole to the charging station or an inductive charging system.
Another novelty with the mini bore rigs for property service connection technology is the GRUNDOPIT 6V. This follow-up version surpasses the performance of the GRUNDOPIT 40/60 with regard to efficiency, speed and ease. Thanks to the improved paddle function, precise steering during the bore process is guaranteed even in difficult soil conditions.
Smart solutions for pipe line installation
The fast-paced development of the steerable drilling technique allows the trenchless installation projects which would have been unthinkable a few years ago. The GRUNDODRILL rigs truly drive this development due to their versatility and profitability. Parallel installations up to 500 m long are possible, with crossings beneath rivers and water bodies being completed frequently. The steering technology even enables bores underneath industrial complexes.
One of the highlights in the HDD machine family is the GRUNDODRILL 18ACS which works highly efficiently in alternating soils as well as in the hardest rock, offering distinctively reduced operating costs and construction times compared to similar drilling rigs. With the challenge of developing the urban underground network the new GRUNDODRILL 11XP was designed. Its slim construction it is ideal for applications in inner-city areas.
With the GRUNDORAM steel pipe ramming machines, providing thrust forces up to 40,000 Nm, steel pipes with diameters of up to 4,000 mm can be installed without the need for thrust walls or abutments. The ramming technique is applicable to pipeline installations, creating underpasses, railway underpasses and culverts, for establishing foundations, for sheet piling and for supporting HDD operations (HDD assist).
Smart solutions for sustainable preservation of resources
TRACTO-TECHNIK is also a market leader in trenchless pipe renewal with its pipe bursting systems. Dynamic pipe renewal systems including GRUNDOCRACK and the static pipe bursting system GRUNDOBURST will be on display. The GRUNDOBURST systems, with pulling forces between 400 and 2500 t, are universally applicable for pipe renewal, but also for rehabilitation measures like relining, TIP or the reduction method. As an example for sustainable system-oriented development The PIPE REDUCER will also be presented. Using the PIPE REDUCER a new pipe is reduced in diameter before being pulled into the old pipe, to form a close fit lining with no annular spaces, providing another option for the field application for the GRUNDOBURST machine technology.
